The city of Cupertino is situated west of San Jose in Santa Clara County, California. Western portions of Cupertino also extend into the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains giving it ease of access to beautiful natural spaces. With a population of around 60,000 people, it was ranked by Forbes magazine as one of the most well-educated small towns in the United States of America. In addition to that, it's home to a number of corporate headquarters such as Apple Inc. The name of the city dates back to March 25, 1776, when Spanish explorer Juan Bautista de Anza arrived at the arroyo of San Joseph Cupertino, which was a creek named by Anza's cartographer who named it for Saint Joseph of Cupertino. Nonetheless, the land of modern-day Cupertino didn't earn its name until San Francisco lawyer and historian John T. Doyle named his winery "Cupertino." Doyle's winery was located on McClellan Road and, by the 20th century, the area once called the "West Side" had been changed to Cupertino.
Potential homebuyers looking to purchase a home in the San Francisco area are attracted to the many amenities offered to them such as an abundance of natural spaces. One example of this is the 289-acre Rancho San Antonio County Park which is a conjoined public recreational area in the Santa Cruz Mountains. It acts as both a habitat for various birds and other animals and a conservation area. Some of the recreations that can be done here include 29 miles of hiking trails, picnic tables with charcoal barbecue stands, paved bicycle trails, and equestrian trails. Then you have the Apple Campus located at 1 Infinite Loop. Though used as Apple's office and lab space, it has a visitors center that is open to the public. Further adding to the open spaces available to residents of Cupertino, there is Fremont Older Open Space Preserve located here in Cupertino, which is a 739-acre regional park featuring 14.7 miles of hiking trails open to equestrian riders and cyclists. For those looking for an excellent place to shop and dine, there is Cupertino Village located at 10869 North Wolfe Road. Cupertino Village is anchored by 99 Ranch Market which is a full-service upscale market specializing in live seafood. In addition to that, there are over 40 businesses that include A&J Restaurant, Chung Chou City, Fantasia Coffee, Joy Luck Restaurant, and Starbucks.
